What to do before rooting Droid Razr or Droid Razr Maxx:
Step 1: The methods and steps mentioned in this article are only meant to be implemented on the Motorola Droid RAZR and MAXX. Please don’t try this article on any other device or any other variant of Motorola.
Step 2: It is advised to charge your device so that there is at least 70% charge with it, this way there will be no Power interruption during the process.
Step 3: You should backup all valuable data’s on your phone, so that there is no data loss during the process.
Step 4: You should disable all Security programs like Antivirus and Firewall from your computer and uninstall the same from your phone, as these security programs generally tend to interrupt the process.
Step 5: Enable USB Debugging in your Motorola Droid RAZR and MAXX from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. The option of USB Debugging should be ticked.
Step 6: Also, ensure that SmartActions App is installed on your phone. If not, download then downloads the same from the link provided.
Download Drivers and Rooting Package from here to your computer. Install the drivers package onto your PC so as to have all the necessary drivers for your phone. Extract the Rooting Package into a folder onto your desktop.
Steps to Root Motorola Droid RAZR and MAXX Running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean:
Step 1: Connect your phone to the PC using the original USB cable. The PC will automatically recognize your device by installing the drivers for it.
Step 2: Now, from the folder where you have extracted the “Rooting Package”, double-click on the “run” file to open it.
Step 3: When the application opens up, press any key to begin the rooting procedure.
Step 4: Now, follow all the on-screen instructions you see to root your device successfully.
Step 5: As soon as the rooting procedure has completed, your phone will automatically reboot.
Step 6: Your phone is now rooted; you can unplug it from the PC and use it.
Step 7: To ensure whether your device has been rooted or not you can download Superuser App from the Google Play Store.
